Note:
BOAT DESIGN/CONSTRUCTION RULES:
1.) Materials are not provided as boats are made at home.
2.) Boats must be pre-made and can be “fine-tuned” on site.
3.) Boats may only be made out of the following items:
a. Corrugated cardboard (may use multiple layers, glued together).
b. Duct Tape
c. Elmer’s wood glue
d. Liquid Nails
e. Water based paint
f. Hot glue
g. Packing Tape
h. All paints and glue must be completely dry before entering the water.
4.) The following items are forbidden:
a. Sealants
b. Cardboard manufacturer for shipping (waxed, weather sealed, rolled, pressed, reinforced, etc).
c. Tar based products
d. Two-part varnishes
e. Fiberglass resin
f. Epoxy glue
g. Corrugated cardboard that is bond to any material
h. Metal or plastic staples, clamps, nails, screws, etc.
i. Wax, silicone or Styrofoam
j. Plastic
5.) Paddles must be constructed from the same material limitations.
6.) Boat must be no wider than 40” and no longer than 60”. In order to fit in the tunnel the boat should be no taller than 60” at any point.
7.) The boat’s passenger area must not be enclosed above the occupant’s shoulders so as to not interfere with escape should the vessel begin to sink.
